Who Are We:
Interfaith Disaster Resources (IDR) is the result of a vision of our Mayor Pro Tem, Clay Ford and the Gulf Breeze City Council. After Hurricane Ivan, in Septmeber of 2004, Mr. Ford saw the City had many resources (including volunteers) available and were not able to use them in the most productive manner.
Churches in the area were using their volunteers and doing a fabulous job in helping others, however, there was a large duplication of efforts and still, needs were going unmet. An invitation to churches in the community was made. These representatives were asked if they would like to participate together in serving our citizens and their congregations through a disaster and it's aftermath. The response was a resounding "YES"!
